Dermaplaning
Dermaplaning
Achieve Smoother, Radiant Skin
Dermaplaning is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that exfoliates your skin by removing dead skin cells and fine vellus hair, commonly known as “peach fuzz.” This treatment aims to leave your skin smoother, brighter, and more youthful-looking.
How Dermaplaning Works
During a dermaplaning session, a trained professional uses a sterile surgical scalpel held at a 45-degree angle to gently scrape off the top layer of dead skin cells and fine hair. This process promotes cell regeneration and allows for better absorption of skincare products.
Benefits of Dermaplaning
- Exfoliation: Removes dead skin cells, promoting a smoother skin texture.
- Hair Removal: Eliminates fine facial hair, resulting in a polished look.
- Enhanced Product Absorption: Improves the efficacy of skincare products by allowing deeper penetration.
- Immediate Results: Provides an instant glow with no downtime.

Ideal Candidates
Dermaplaning is suitable for most skin types, especially those with dry or rough skin, mild acne scars, or sun damage. If you have active acne, it’s best to wait until it is controlled.
What to Expect During the Procedure
- 1. Preparation: Your skin will be cleansed thoroughly to remove any makeup and oils.
- 2. Treatment: The provider will gently glide the scalpel across your skin to exfoliate and remove hair.
- 3. Post-Treatment: After care products are applied to hydrate and protect the skin.
The entire procedure typically takes about 30 minutes, and there is no downtime required.
Treatment
Dermaplaning
A scalpel is used on the targeted area during the procedure to buff off the dull cells and vellus hairs gently. The procedure takes 15-30 minutes and results in radiant skin. Before starting the treatment, we’ll cleanse and dry your skin. You’ll sit and relax as we dermaplane the surface of your skin and activate cell regeneration. You’ll notice the skin improvements and get complete absorption from serums. Once your skin is scraped, we’ll coat the treated area with a medical-grade moisturizer to seal in the hydration.
FAQs
How often should I get dermaplaning?
It’s recommended to undergo dermaplaning every 4 to 6 weeks to maintain optimal results.
Will my hair grow back thicker?
No, dermaplaning does not change the structure of hair follicles; hair will grow back at the same rate and texture.
Is there any downtime?
Dermaplaning requires no downtime; you can resume your daily activities immediately after the procedure.
Can I wear makeup after dermaplaning?
It’s advisable to wait at least 6 hours before applying makeup to let the aftercare products absorb fully.
Can dermaplaning be combined with other procedures?
Yes. We offer the DiamondGlow Elite Facial, which combines dermaplaning with the DiamondGlow treatment – a 3-in-1 system that exfoliates, extracts, and infuses customized serums, leaving your skin refreshed and hydrated. Additionally, our Glow Trifecta combines DiamondGlow with dermaplaning and a micro peel for enhanced results. Dermaplaning is versatile and can also be added to treatments like IPL or during your neuromodulator appointment.
