Dr. Julia Milman
Owner/Medical Director
Dr. Julia Milman is a board certified physician and is the owner and medical director of “Dr. Julia Milman’s Aesthetic Medicine.” Dr. Milman was born in Kyiv, Ukraine and was lucky enough to immigrate with her parents to the United States on her 12th birthday. She earned her bachelor’s degree with a major in Biology and minor in French from Loyola University and then attended UIC for a master’s program. Rush Medical School was next, followed by Northwestern University for residency in anesthesiology which she completed in 2009. U of C almost made it on her resume to round out all the major institutions in the Chicago land area, but she had to respectfully decline the offer for a fellowship.
Dr. Milman has been practicing anesthesia and aesthetics and she loves both. In medical school, she was part of a research project where she looked for innovative ways of teaching robotics, and received an award for “most dexterous hands.” Performing and teaching anesthetic blocks was her forte in residency, and hence her love for working with needles was cemented. The aesthetic industry is very dynamic and Dr. Milman only uses the latest innovative technology and techniques in her practice. She attends at least two to three conferences per year to keep up with all of the new research and enjoys teaching aesthetics as well.
Aesthetics allow for Dr. Milman’s artistic side to be expressed, and she just loves the look on her patient’s faces when they see themselves after her aesthetic enhancements. Nothing is more rewarding professionally than to see that added boost of confidence in patients’ eyes. Her goal is to always keep her patients looking like themselves, just a rejuvenated and a little younger version, with that added touch of beauty that everyone deserves.
Dr. Milman is looking forward to meeting you!
Dan Milman
Practice Manager (Supreme Leader)
Dan Milman, is a Supreme Leader at Dr. Julia Milman’s Aesthetic Medicine. Dan was born in Baku, Azerbaijan which was one of the former republics of USSR. While growing up, he was the best in his republic at triple jump in his age group. You have probably never heard of triple jump, just like you most likely never heard of Baku, Azerbaijan. That’s ok. Let this be a small lesson in Geography and knowledge of obscure things that you will never, ever use again in your life.
At the tender age of 15, Dan decided to immigrate to the United States. Not so much his decision, but more of the inevitable action of his parents leaving and him not being able to fend for himself at that age.
After arrival to Chicago, Dan went to Niles North High School, where he (being a Supreme Athlete at that time) played basketball for the Vikings. He led his team to a great many losses during his short tenure. This led his grandfather, who lived in New York at the time, tell all of his neighbors that his grandson plays for the Chicago Bulls, no less. Luckily, none of his neighbors had TVs, or watched basketball and were not able to call him out on it. To this day, Dan is a legendary Chicago basketball player in Brooklyn, New York.
After Dan became a grown-up (and that is only on a physical level, as mentally he is still around 5) he met the love of his life. Yes, you guessed it, it was Julia. She was wonderful, smart, kind, gorgeous (she rattles on and I can’t remember all the adjectives that she wanted me to use to describe herself). Yes, everything else is written in third person and the sentence above isn’t. Deal with it.
Anyway, after being married for a significant amount of time (it only seems like an eternity), Julia (or as she likes Dan to call her, Dr. Milman) decided that bossing Dan around at home isn’t enough. She wanted to make sure that he had clear direction at work also. Julia opened Dr. Julia Milman’s Aesthetic Medicine and made him work there. She even gave him a title of a Supreme Leader, so he could feel important.
You might want to ask what does Dan do at work? In a word: Everything. Short of injections, he makes sure the place runs smoothly, providers have the necessary tools, people get their skincare delivered, etc., or as Dr. Milman would say: Nothing.
Please make sure to tell Dr. Milman how great of a job Dan is doing. This will help with his daily reviews both at work and home.

Alexis Walkington
Esthetician
I’m Alexis Walkington, an esthetician with a decade of experience, and I’m thrilled to be part of the team at Dr. Julia Milman’s Aesthetic Medicine. My passion for the beauty industry has been ingrained in me for as long as I can remember—whether it was wearing face masks at home with my mom or sneaking a dab of her makeup before I was old enough to wear it.
Growing up I was deeply immersed in the creative arts program, where I engaged in painting, drawing, and various artistic endeavors. My artwork was even selected to be showcased at the College of Lake County Art Show, reflecting my keen eye for detail at a young age. This artistic foundation naturally guided me towards a career in beauty, and I pursued this lifelong passion by enrolling in the aesthetics program at Tricoci University of Beauty Culture.
During my time at Tricoci, I was an active member of the student council and took part in various charitable activities, including volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House. Helping families feel relaxed and beautiful during challenging times was incredibly fulfilling and remains one of the most meaningful aspects of my career.
After graduating in 2014, I began my professional journey with Laura Mercier, where I was trained by celebrity makeup artists. This experience allowed me to merge my love for art with my expertise in skincare.
In addition to my extensive experience, I hold two Master Laser Certifications, which have expanded my ability to offer advanced skincare treatments. I also had the privilege of teaching laser classes in collaboration with Estelle Beauty School, sharing my knowledge and expertise with the next generation of beauty professionals.
My commitment to both my craft and my clients continues to drive me, and I am dedicated to providing exceptional care and results. I look forward to meeting you and using my mastery of advanced laser technology and medical grade skincare to unveil your skin’s natural radiance.
